We went to a house warming party at a friend’s house, the previous owner had left behind a game called Tiki Toss. You have to swing a metal ring onto a hook. My daughter loved it and asked if we could make one, which she named the Surf Shoot to avoid trademark infringement. My obvious response to her request was OF COURSE!!!
A quick trip to Home Depot to grab a metal hook, a metal ring and some colorful string. We spent another couple minutes digging through the “nice” scrap wood and found a chunk of quilted maple, leftover from the guitar project.
She drew out the shape and I cut it on the band saw. She took over from there. All the sanding, placement of the hook, drilling the pilot hole. I sprayed it with a coat of finish/sealer and she got out the paints to jazz it up.
